Cadaco has been manufacturing this game since the 30's (a very similar 1/2 court game was put out by Whitman in the 20's). Cadaco changed the artwork a number of times over the years but the game play remained the same as it was when it first came out 60+ years ago.
This particular copy dates back to the 40's. The box is the 1938 design but the board is dated 1945 so I would date the game somewhere between 1945-50 (they changed the box design in 1950). It is a better than average example of this edition of this classic game. The parts are in very nice shape. The box is not so great but still better than most and will do fine until you find an upgrade.
The game parts are in VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT condition. The game is 100% complete. It includes the playing field (with all levers in perfect working order), the backboards, 2 intact baskets and the ball. Other than the court having a bit of play wear near the levers the parts are in great shape. No tears in the netting, no significant creases or stains on the backboards. Overall I would grade the game parts 6-7 on a 10 scale (see condition guide below).
The game box is in GOOD condition. It has quite a bit of wear including dishing, some stains, a bit of writing and 2 split corners. The colors are still bright and the stains are not too dark. Box bottom is in slightly better shape. I would grade the box a 4 on a 10 scale (see condition guide below).
